The physical education program at Union Elementary School is based on the philosophy of “Fitness for Life.” Your child will be involved in meaningful physical education lessons, which are aligned with the physical education National Standards.
Our goals are:
- To develop every student’s level of physical fitness.
- To promote self-satisfaction from giving one’s best effort, regardless of winning or losing.
- To help students develop a passion for activities they can do outside of school and throughout their lives.
- To help students develop cooperative skills and work well with others.
The expectations for PE class include:
- All students will try their best to demonstrate the school-wide expectations of: Be Kind, Be Responsible, and Be Safe.
- All students must wear sneakers during their physical education class. This rule is for their own safety as well as the safety of other students. We have extra sneakers for students to borrow if they forget them on PE days.
Check out our website for information on our monthly units, as well as special events and photos of ongoing class activities at: uesfitnessforlife.blogspot.com. We will also be sending out a monthly newsletter with important information and updates about the physical education program at UES.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us or stop by to see us at school. On the back of this paper you will find our yearly plan. Check out what your students will be learning throughout the year. Thank you for taking the time to read this with your child to ensure a positive learning environment. This is going to be a fun-filled year!
